Winter Rockpool Swims
As studies have shown that swimming in icy cold water can be beneficial in the management of Alzheimer’s Disease, I regularly swim in the ocean rockpools that are found along the Northern Beaches during the Sydney winter months (June to September). As the cold water envelops your face, it causes anti-stress hormones to be released that makes you feel invigorated, increases your alertness, and leaves you in an energetic frame of mind. Last year, I noticed that the effect became more pronounced as the water gets colder and colder, as a result I have found myself looking forward to the approaching winter.

Monday the 27th of June, 2022 was my first Winter Swim this year in Freshwater Rockpool.
